BlueThread currently offers two workflow engine options; both are fully integrated via SmartDesk's Workflow Provider Layer.

The workflow engine in conjunction with SmartDesk, is configured to present allowable actions within each step as well as the workflow properties, status and process maps which can also be exposed to the user.


With either K2's new blackpearl or traditional K2.Net engine, documents and other content move through defined workflow steps, and are either "pushed" to a workflow user’s in-box or can be populated within group or assigned user queues.


Both workflow engines provide predefined activities for common workflow functions. These components allow organizations to delegate tasks such as approve, reject, route, notify, etc. The workflow engine also tracks the progress of a workflow with time-based reminders, escalation, and management notification via e-mail.

Blackpearl offers a set of unique yet fully-integrated modeling environments that allow business users to first create workflows then allow IT staff to refine and easily integrate them with their existing Line-of-business systems.

SharePoint Integration
Workflow integration with Microsoft SharePoint allows clients to associate a process map with a SharePoint Document or eForm (InfoPath) library. A workflow trigger may be configured based on events within a document library or route content between individual users and groups.
